Dr. Crist worked with the The Conservation Trust of Puerto Rico and partners such as the National Land Use Planning program, NOAA, Department of Natural Resources, Universities, and others over many years. A variety of products have been developed over the long-life of this collaboration. Most recently Dr. Crist oversaw a collaboration with NOAA to conduct an integrated land-sea assessment and prioritization for Puerto Rico’s Northeast Ecological Corridor. Previous activities included assessment of the new National Land Use Plan, equipping the Trust with a decision support system and training allowed staff to rapidly identify areas where adjustments to the plan would accommodate retention of these important ecosystem services. Other projects created prioritizations for terrestrial, freshwater, and marine conservation areas.
