Long range transportation plan scenario comparison for Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments

Eco-Logical is the program that the Department of Transportation and Federal Highways Agency in the U.S. uses to proactively integrate conservation into long range transportation planning and project implementation. Dr. Crist was a lead author of the Integrated Ecological Framework that describes the nuts and bolts of implementing Eco-Logical. Dr. Crist also conducted important research into Regional Advanced Mitigation Planning. PlanIt Forward can assist state and local transportation agencies in applying the concepts of Eco-Logical to planning at multiple scales and timeframes. For example, Dr. Crist worked with the Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments to evaluate scenarios of urban growth and needed transportation capacity improvements, quantify impacts to habitats and imperiled species, generate preferred alternatives, and identify areas important for future transportation mitigation. PlanIt Forward can assist your agency to integrate conservation with transportation at multiple scales from individual projects to long range transportation plans. We can assist in applying the Integrated Ecological Framework of Eco-Logical such as developing Regional Ecological Frameworks and scenario-based assessments. We can also develop Regional Advanced Mitigation Plans.
