Carbon Services

PlanIt Forward, with our global partners, assists project developers, partners, and investors with a variety of services around carbon sequestration and carbon credits. Dr. Crist worked for 3 years with Verra, the leading issuer of carbon credits, and for a carbon finance startup company. He reviewed hundreds of projects and advised project developers. He has knowledge of the carbon space, project methodologies, and standards of the major carbon registries.  Our expertise is primarily in Nature-Based Solutions but Dr. Crist is also quite familiar with other project types, such as Improved Cooking Stoves. Dr. Crist draws on his decades of experience in botany, ecology, and conservation to bring a high level of expertise to REDD+, ARR (reforestation, afforestation, and restoration), agroforestry, biochar, and other related project types.

  • Evaluating projects and conducting due diligence to identify risks and additional opportunities relative to published methodologies, registry requirements, and best practices. This can apply to projects at any stage from concepts through those already implemented and in issuance.
  • Assist in project design and documentation to provide smoother review and acceptance. This can range from simple review and advice through editing to working with your team to produce the documentation.
  • Provide general management of project documentation, review, and validation and verification processes.
  • Identify or evaluate appropriate project types, methodologies, and registries for a project area. For example, would you like expert assistance in understanding what project types might work best in a specific area? Dr. Crist can also consult on the potential for bundling multiple project types for an area such as agroforestry, biochar, and improved cooking stoves.
  • Build or originate projects working with our global partners such as Climate Spring.
  • Help connect you to partners. Dr. Crist can draw on his extensive global connections to help you build your team if you need specific expertise and capacity.
