I have worked with Patrick for the past several years at our children’s school and their K-12 Learning Garden in Lafayette. Patrick designed the large school garden with so many interesting pieces, including nine large raised beds, an outdoor teaching classroom, a pollinator preserve and an extensive irrigation system. He also included many options for future enhancements. He was very comprehensive in his planning and was thoughtful about bringing concepts to our garden that would improve the kids’ learning experiences. Patrick’s skills as a landscape designer have been invaluable to me as chair of Anthem’s Common Grounds Committee. When our community’s recreation center flooded recently, we engaged Patrick, who evaluated and identified significant drainage issues that had contributed to the flood. Patrick made recommendations for design changes to remedy the drainage problems and presented those recommendations to our committee, then to a full meeting of the board of directors, also attended by a large number of concerned community members. His calm and capable approach to a volatile situation diffused much of the frustration. We are grateful that Patrick was able to complete the project in a short time-frame. I am hopeful we will have opportunities to use his firm in the future.
