Partner Organizations
OCTO (Open Communications for the Ocean): OCTO’s principals John Davis and Sarah Carr coordinate some of the marine conservation field’s largest and most active knowledge sharing communities. They also offer a range of consulting services that provide custom solutions for resource management needs, from site-level to global. Patrick and Sarah started the Coastal Marine EBM Tools Network, a precursor to OCTO and supporting this network of over 100,000 participants for over twenty years. Jointly we can provide a broad range of services in coastal and marine assessment planning, and blue carbon, informed by decades of experience in the marine field and unmatched networks.
Individual Partners
Patrick Comer: Patrick (Pat) Comer is founder and principle of Comer Ecology. Pat applies insights from ecosystem assessment and ecological forecasting to conserve natural and cultural systems. Pat has worked since 1985 in biodiversity conservation throughout the Americas and beyond. He served for decades in science leadership roles for both The Nature Conservancy and NatureServe. His current consulting focuses on data-driven approaches to natural resource assessment, planning, management, restoration, and monitoring. Pat and Patrick (Crist) worked together for many years at NatureServe, innovating a broad variety of conservation projects and decision support tools and guidance for a huge variety of organizations.
Chetan Aggarwal: Chetan is founder of Climate Spring, a carbon crediting consultancy. Climate Spring and PlanIt Forward partner to provide clients with an extensive set of services to review, develop, or improve carbon projects and advise clients on their related needs.
Rob Sutter: Rob is founder of Enduring Conservation Outcomes, a consultancy that helps NGOs and government agencies with a variety of conservation and resource management planning and decision making problems. Rob is a skilled facilitator and conservation ecologist. Rob and Patrick have worked together facilitating workshops on coastal vulnerability in various regions.
Kavita Kapur Macleod: Kavita is an accomplished consultant in the economic and policy aspects of conservation and sustainability.
Emily Seddon: Emily has been partnering with PlanIt Forward since 2019 on a variety of GIS projects. Emily is an accomplished GIS analyst and planner with considerable knowledge in biodiversity and conservation.
Samantha Coccia-Schillo: Samantha is a GIS expert who has worked with Patrick to develop truly innovative coastal vulnerability and resilience assessments using advanced modeling.
Priya Gunjan: Priya supports a wide variety of carbon and sustainability projects around the world. She conducts baseline analyses, additionality calculations, and produces project design documents.
