If your core need is focused on conserving biodiversity, natural resources, and ecosystem services, PlanIt Forward can help you identify the key values and features, appropriate data & expert knowledge, assessments, and help you develop plans that address current and future threats. Conservation biology is a core competency and we can address the many complex needs of species and ecosystem processes to continue delivering the desired values. Understanding how climate change will affect these values over time is also critical to developing plans that maintain viability while preparing for inevitable ecosystem and species composition changes. Assessing and planning for connectivity is another critical component of what we do to ensure current viability and climate adaptation capacity. For example, Dr. Crist worked with Save the Redwoods League to assemble an extensive amount of forest and species data, model habitat connectivity, and generate priorities for restoration and conservation. All of the work was delivered in a decision support toolkit along with guidance and training that supported the organization through staff changes.
